Octant Destinations Data Retention Policy

  • Booking and Payment Information: This data is typically retained for 7 years for accounting and tax purposes, as well as for potential claims or disputes. This information will be kept for potential claims, audits, and financial reporting purposes.

  • Marketing and Communication Data: We retain marketing preferences and communication records for 4 years unless you opt out. This data is used for analysis and campaign performance evaluation.

  • Travel Documents and Correspondence: These documents are retained for 4 years after the completion of the trip for reference and potential claims.

  • Financial Records: Financial records, including payment transactions and invoices, are retained for 7 years in accordance with applicable tax and accounting regulations. This information is retained for financial reporting, tax purposes and fraud prevention.

  • Website and Application Usage Data:  This information will be retained for a period of 2 years for website improvement and analytics.

 

Data Deletion

We will securely delete customer data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes outlined above or when required by law. Data deletion may be performed through anonymization, de-identification, or permanent deletion.

 

Exceptions

We may retain certain data for longer periods if required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or to protect our rights. Some examples include:

  • To resolve disputes or investigations
